CONCUR assisted the California Urban Water Conservation Council in two strategic planning initiatives.

In October 2002, CONCUR facilitated a two-day strategic planning session that resulted in parties developing the broad outlines of a new three-year Strategic Plan. Following the strategic planning session, CONCUR worked with Council staff and leadership to refine and draft a summary document describing the Strategic Plan’s focus and goals. The Council unanimously endorsed the new Strategic Plan during its June 2003 plenary session.

The Council called on CONCUR’s services again in 2004 to design and facilitate a two-day retreat. The goals of this meeting were to help the Council and environmental groups develop both mid- and long-term goals to implement best practices for urban water conservation, impart tools in negotiation and mutual gains bargaining and resolve several near-term issues related to funding and allocation of staff time.
