Ground
Transportation to the Clark Kerr Campus:
Arrival
by Car and Parking Instructions: UC Berkeley's Clark Kerr campus can
be reached via Highway 80, or alternatively by Highway 24. Clark
Kerr's address is 2601 Warring Street, Berkeley, CA, and the training
building is near the intersection of Warring and Derby streets.
Parking
for this event is provided by PERMIT ONLY for the SOUTHWEST PARKING LOT
just off of Warring Street, near the intersection of Warring and Derby.
Do not park in the residential neighborhood or in any other parking lot
on campus, or you will be ticketed or possibly towed. Parking permits
must be requested in advance upon registration and will be provided upon
arrival on the first day of the course.
BART
(Bay Area Rapid Transit):
The closest
BART stop to the training location is Downtown Berkeley. The Clark Kerr
campus of UC Berkeley is about 1.5 miles and a 20-30 minute walk from
this station, at a slight uphill grade. Taxis are often available outside
this train station, or you can connect to local buses (AC
Transit) that have stops near the campus (the #51 bus headed toward
Rockridge can drop you off at College and Derby streets, 3 blocks from
the training venue). AC Transit bus far is $2.00, exact change needed.
Oakland
Airport Shuttle: A shuttle connects the Oakland Airport to BART,
which has trains serving downtown Berkeley at 20 minute intervals. The
cost of the shuttle from the airport to the BART train is $2.50 per
person; you will need exact change before boarding the shuttle.
The cost
for the BART train from the airport stop to Downtown Berkeley is approximately
$3.00.
San
Francisco Airport: BART connects directly to the San Francisco airport.
The ride between SFO and Berkeley is approximately 45-60 minutes long,
depending on schedule, and costs approximately $6.

Air
Transportation:
The Oakland
Airport provides the most convenient access to Berkeley. Oakland is
served by many carriers, notably Southwest (1-800-435-9792) which has
inexpensive flights from cities throughout the American West to Oakland.
San Francisco
Airport is served by more carriers. San Francisco airport is about
25 miles from the Clark Kerr campus; travel time can range from 45 minutes
to 1 1/2 hours, depending on traffic conditions.
Taxi
Fare from the Oakland Airport to lodging near the course venue runs
about $50. Taxi fare from SFO to the course venue runs about $65.
The Bayporter
Shuttle (1-510-864-4000) runs from both the Oakland Airport and the
San Francisco Airport. Transportation for a single passenger from the
San Francisco Airport to Berkeley costs $27+tip. Transportation for a
single passenger from the Oakland airport to Berkeley costs $23+tip. Reservations

Introduction:
There are many lodging options in Berkeley, including several within a
few blocks of the Clark Kerr campus where the training will be convened.
When choosing accommodations, consider if you would like to walk, drive,
or take public transportation to the course venue.
Bancroft
Hotel (510-549-1000): This 22-room hotel, located across the street
from the main UC Berkeley campus and adjacent to the popular Cafe Strada
coffee shop, is situated about 7 blocks from the Clark Kerr campus. Rooms

Durant
Hotel (510-845-8981): This 140-room hotel is located about 5 blocks
from the Clark Kerr campus. Rooms run $125 per night. The hotel has its

Claremont
Resort Hotel and Spa (510-843-3000). This Berkeley landmark is located
about 10-15 blocks uphill from the Clark Kerr campus. Rooms run $235-395

French
Hotel (510-548-9930): This 18-room hotel is located in the heart of
Berkeley's Gourmet Ghetto across the street from Chez Panisse Restaurant
and approximately two miles from the Clark Kerr campus. The French Hotel
Cafe is located downstairs. Rooms run between $78 and $130 per night.
Radisson
(510-548-7920): This 375-room hotel is located on the Berkeley waterfront.
It is located about four miles from the Clark Kerr campus. Facilities
include several pools, a fitness center, and restaurant. Rooms run $159-184

from the downtown Berkeley Bart Station in the heart of downtown Berkeley's
emerging theater and art district. The hotel is located about 12 blocks

Rose
Garden Inn (510-549-2145): This 40-room facility has been a favorite
of many Clark Kerr course participants. It is located about 8 blocks from

the Waterfront, just five miles from UC Berkeley. Facilities include a
