The training venue, UC Berkeley Clark Kerr Conference Center, is located at 2601 Warring Street, Berkeley, CA. It is not on the main UC Berkeley Campus. Please see the map here and directions here. Air Transportation: The Oakland Airport provides the most convenient access to Berkeley. Oakland is served by many carriers, notably Southwest (1-800-435-9792) which has inexpensive flights from cities throughout the American West to Oakland. San Francisco Airport is served by more carriers. San Francisco airport is about 25 miles from the Clark Kerr campus; travel time can range from 45 minutes to 1 1/2 hours, depending on traffic conditions. Taxi Fare from the Oakland Airport to lodging near the course venue runs about $50. Taxi fare from SFO to the course venue runs about $65. The Bayporter Shuttle (1-510-864-4000) runs from both the Oakland Airport and the San Francisco Airport. Transportation for a single passenger from the San Francisco Airport to Berkeley costs $27+tip. Transportation for a single passenger from the Oakland airport to Berkeley costs $23+tip. You can connect to local buses (AC Transit) that have stops near the campus. BART serves communities in Contra Costa, Alameda, San Mateo, and San Francisco counties. Lodging: Introduction: There are many lodging options in Berkeley, including several within a few blocks of the Clark Kerr campus where the training will be convened. When choosing accommodations, consider if you would like to walk, drive, or take public transportation to the course venue. Bancroft Hotel (510-549-1000): This 22-room hotel, located across the street from the main UC Berkeley campus and adjacent to the popular Cafe Strada coffee shop, is situated about 7 blocks from the Clark Kerr campus. Durant Hotel (510-845-8981): This 140-room hotel is located about 5 blocks from the Clark Kerr campus. Rooms run $125 per night. The hotel has its own restaurant and cafe. This Berkeley landmark is located about 10-15 blocks uphill from the Clark Kerr campus. Rooms run $235-395 per night. The hotel has many additional features such as a pool, fitness center, and spa. French Hotel (510-548-9930): This 18-room hotel is located in the heart of Berkeley's Gourmet Ghetto across the street from Chez Panisse Restaurant and approximately two miles from the Clark Kerr campus. The French Hotel Cafe is located downstairs. Rooms run between $78 and $130 per night. Radisson (510-548-7920): This 375-room hotel is located on the Berkeley waterfront. It is located about four miles from the Clark Kerr campus. Facilities include several pools, a fitness center, and restaurant. Rooms run $159-184 per night.
